DEVELOPMENT

"Balancing everything is good, but harmonizing is better."

The development component consists of conducting economic activities with the aim of sustainable food self-sufficiency, in order to reduce supply costs but also to educate our members in collective participation "receiving and giving back". Currently, we are facing several problems on this branch (financial, management, staff problems, etc.). We strive to find effective solutions and we count on the solidarity of our partners to achieve this. Thus, as development activities, we have:

- A perimeter of 7ha, which is close to Betania, our second center. These lands are used for rice production (rice farming) and for fish farming. The exploitation of this land also allows us to give work to local farmers, with whom we work closely. - On the Betania sites, we have set up a site for planting fruit trees (over 350 feet). This project was funded by one of our partners in France and aims to provide a fruitful contribution to all Avotra members. These fruits can then be made into juice or jam. - A large vegetable garden to make the most of fresh and organic vegetables. - Fish ponds at the Salema center: Allowing us to provide animal protein for children for their health and growth. Given the high price of meat, fish is a healthy and economical alternative.
